Performance recognition and its impact on innovation and engagement

This Slideshare presentation from OC Tanner shows how “happy employees” make a “happy business” and describes the difference between recognition for “ongoing effort” and recognition for “going above and beyond”.  The former needs to be frequent and informal, while the latter needs to be less frequent and more meaningful.

You can see from the slides, there is a lot of research that has proven the effect of proper employee recognition programmes on employee engagement, drive, work relationships, and employee retention.
