5 reasons we forget presentations

Last year I took part in some research into how much people can remember from presentations. The answer, it seems, is four slides, if you’re lucky!

Here’s a follow-on presentation from Rexi Media outlining 5 reasons why we forget presentations and what we need to do about it.  Ironically, the presentation has 40 slides.

  1. Draw attention to what’s important
  2. Deviate from sameness for important items
  3. Enable participants to process content deeply
  4. Invite them to be part of an experience
  5. Keep it short
